Crow Wreath

I think these crow wreaths turned out so cute! And I got to use my jigsaw which made it even more fun to put together - I don't make things often enough to use it so it's a little intimidating when I do get it out but really, it isn't hard to use at all.

Initially I thought I was going to attach the birds to a wire wreath frame, but then I had the idea to glue them to circle bases...but what would be sturdy enough to hold the birds (not sure regular cardboard would  do it)? Mark had a piece of very heavy and thick cardboard, I think it's cardboard but not sure what it's actually called - way to thick to cut with an exacto knife which is where the jigsaw came into play. I drew 2 circles on the cardboard and cut them out - side note: I didn't know what to set the cardboard on so I could cut it, we have a couple tire rims in the basement so I carefully placed the circles into the center of the tire and it worked great. I spray painted the front and sides of the circles black. Let it dry.

For a hanger I just used a piece of pipe cleaner and some hot glue, but that wasn't quite strong enough so I  reinforced with a couple of staples.

Before assembling I sprayed some of the crows with a little glitter glue, a brush and regular glitter and glue would work as well. Let them dry,

I have some 'creepy cloth' (that's what it's called!) in my Halloween tote and cut some to fit over each circle, sort of spider web looking, and tacked it in the back with hot glue. Then I pinned a small skeleton (they came on a garland from the dollar store) in the middle. I looked everywhere for small crows but couldn't find them locally, I ended up ordering them from Amazon. To attach them in a circle around the outside perimeter of the circles I pulled off their legs and hot glued them in place.
