There is a local farmers market that I've gone to a few times with Mickey and fam - every week they have a booth offering a free kid craft; it's for all ages so even tho Georgie is still so little she can do most of the crafts with a little help. This last time they had this cute watercolor apple craft that I think is so cute and very easy to do. I wish I took pictures of the steps but really, it's easy and almost self-explanatory.
They started with a flattened coffee filter (the basket kind, not a cone shaped one), then had kids color in the center with markers. Then the adult helper sprayed water all over the coffee filter causing the markers to blend into a tie-dye watercolor design. Then they glued it behind a piece of colored paper that already had an apple shape cut out of the middle, creating this apple picture to hang on your fridge or wherever.
We think the helper sprayed a little too much water because the apple paper wouldn't stick very good to the coffee filter, I think if we waited for it to dry more the paper would stick just fine - also they put it into a ziplock baggie immediately after assembling it and then handed it to the two year old to walk around with it so it was a little worse for wear by the time Mickey got it home hahaha. Still, so cute!
