DIY Chip Clip! ... by Brooke

so I saw this on Instagram and I wanted to try it out! it keeps your chip bag closed so they don't get stale! all you do is take two straws and make a slit in one side of one. then take the top of the chip bag and use the whole straw and roll the end of the bag on it. then once you have it all rolled up take the straw with the slit and slide it over the top! it stays on tight and its super cool! I don't know if that makes any sense but the pictures hopefully will! sorry this was short blog but I needed to share!

one year ago today: the directional sign I made for my sister - I still love this project, she has it "planted" in back of her house.

Garage Sale Signs by Brooke

Today Brooke is having a go at guest blogging - Dave and I are going on vacation soon and I asked her if she'd like to cover for me...she thought she should try it first and see before she commits haha.  Here is her first post - I'm not editing or helping at all :)

we had a garage sale last weekend and i helped my aunt make signs! we put them all around the neighborhood so everyone could see. it was very simple, we just got poster boards and used stencils and traced the letters, then painted them. i wanted too just use regular writing but since its my aunt jill it has to be bubble letters with a stencil. i think they turned out great! ps. we had all the materials at home, and didn't have to buy anything!

Kids Craft - Brooke makes a pencil holder

I asked Brooke if she has any fun crafts she would like to share on my blog, and she does! Told her she can be a regular guest blogger if she can keep coming up with projects - I wondered where she gets her ideas and she said "I just think them up". Awwwww, so cute. So now I have a new "kiddo" category, hope you enjoy and get some fun ideas.

Here she is making a cute holder out of a few basic supplies, some crayons, and a glue gun. Not sure if she has learned the lesson on her own or if she's listened to me for years telling her to be careful when using the glue gun, but she cautions everyone to be careful a couple times on this video - good for her!

Normally when we use the hot glue gun (or melt soap, candle wax, etc.) I have a bowl of ice water nearby if she accidentally gets anything on her that burns - she knows to just stick the burned finger in the water...I see she left that out of this craft session but she looks like she knows what she's doing and is being careful so I'll leave her alone about it this time :)

Supplies:
-empty toilet paper roll
-handful of crayons
-scissors
-hot glue gun
-glue sticks

Basically she just glues the crayons to the outside of the toilet paper roll - pretty easy and a cute idea.
