K-Cup Bunnies

Here's another cutie k-cup craft for spring - click here to revisit those adorable blue birds from last week - perfect for Easter and an easy kids craft.

Supplies:
  • clean recycled k-cups, pink and white cardstock, heart shaped punch, black marker or sharpie, hot glue
Directions:
  • cut out bunny ears from white paper - I saw someone make a template online using the edge of a mason jar lid but you can easily wing cutting out rabbit ears. Then cut out smaller bunny ears from pink paper and glue them onto the white paper, then glue them to the back of the k-cup overlapping slightly. Draw on a face and whiskers using a black sharpie; punch out a heart from pink paper and glue on upside down for the nose.

DIY Bubble Maker

Hello, everyone, it's Brooke! today I was super bored and decided to ty this DIY bubble maker! So the first thing I did was cut the bottom off of a water bottle, then I took an old sock and put it over the part I cut. then in a bowl, I put a couple squirts of dish soap and water and mixed that. then I went outside and dipped the end of the water bottle with the sock in the mixture and then blew on the nozzle of the water bottle and made bubbles!!!! See sounds easy and is easy! it took like 5 minutes!!  hope you have fun with your bubble maker! see you next time! -Brooke

Decorating Notebooks by Brooke

School is about to start for Brooke, watch her get all crafty decorating her composition notebooks in anticipation - especially watch the "outtake" part at the end when she calls washi tape "washing tape", it's cute. Enjoy!

2022 update - why do my old videos keep disappearing?!

Kids Crafts for Easter

Brooke has a couple cute ideas for Easter crafts that are inexpensive and since there is no hot glue involved (for once), they're probably suitable for different ages of kids to make!

For the first one she is making bird's nests out of string, balloons, glue and water. Dissolve some white glue in water, soak colored string in it, wrap it around a balloon and let dry. Remove the hardened string from the balloon either by pulling it off or popping the balloon if necessary. Voilà, you have a cute string bundle that looks like a birds nest - for Easter you could fill with candy eggs, plastic grass, little chicks, etc. This is also a cute craft for other times of year! Love it, good idea B.

The second one is shown in the middle of this video - she is simply stringing plastic eggs onto string to use as a garland. She's making hers to drape over her door but you can make it as long or short as you want and place it anywhere. I've never noticed but apparently there are little holes in the top and bottom of plastic eggs, perfect for stringing them up. She doesn't show the finished garland, but after she strings a couple of eggs you get the idea of what it'll look like.

Watch her intro even if you don't want to make kids crafts - her saying how 'excited she is about Easter, because Easter means spring, and she loves spring' is super cute.

Kids Craft - Brooke makes a pencil holder

I asked Brooke if she has any fun crafts she would like to share on my blog, and she does! Told her she can be a regular guest blogger if she can keep coming up with projects - I wondered where she gets her ideas and she said "I just think them up". Awwwww, so cute. So now I have a new "kiddo" category, hope you enjoy and get some fun ideas.

Here she is making a cute holder out of a few basic supplies, some crayons, and a glue gun. Not sure if she has learned the lesson on her own or if she's listened to me for years telling her to be careful when using the glue gun, but she cautions everyone to be careful a couple times on this video - good for her!

Normally when we use the hot glue gun (or melt soap, candle wax, etc.) I have a bowl of ice water nearby if she accidentally gets anything on her that burns - she knows to just stick the burned finger in the water...I see she left that out of this craft session but she looks like she knows what she's doing and is being careful so I'll leave her alone about it this time :)

Supplies:
-empty toilet paper roll
-handful of crayons
-scissors
-hot glue gun
-glue sticks

Basically she just glues the crayons to the outside of the toilet paper roll - pretty easy and a cute idea.
