Tip-sy Tuesday: steamer basket hack

This isn't a great picture, but it is a very clever solution to how to steam without a steamer basket! This is from Mary - she wanted to make steamed artichokes and improvised by putting a metal colander in a large pan of water (make sure the colander fits inside the pan so the steam doesn't escape from around the colander) and topping with a lid that fits over the veggies. Smart, right? So if you are steaming cabbage tomorrow for your St. Patrick's corned beef and cabbage dinner and don't have a steamer - give this a try!
