Sham-rocks (painted rocks)

I painted these in 2019 and showed a photo in a post titled "St. Patrick's Day Plan" but never gave them their own post - so how are you going to see shamrocks painted on rocks without a post hahahah. So here, I'm making it right.

Paint the tops of the rocks a solid color for a base. Lightly trace or freehand 3 or 4 hearts so you have a shamrock template (each leaf is a heart). Then layer multiple dots in the shape of a shamrock using the handle of a small paintbrush dipped in craft paint. Just keep layering the dots until you get the effect you like. I used different greens, white, and gold paints.

gold chocolate coins, and the sham-rocks that people took home as a little gift.

Tip-sy Tuesday: Shamrock Cookies

Today's tip is once again not really a tip, just an idea how to easily decorate some shamrock cookies. I don't know where I found this idea, it's been in my file for 5 years now and I still haven't made them so I'm sharing with you so maybe I'll be inspired to actually make them already!

This appears to be royal icing tinted green - royal icing makes for very pretty cookies but I'm not a fan of how it tastes so I'd use buttercream instead. Before it sets add a mixture of green, white, and gold sprinkles and candy decorations. So pretty - and simple!

March 10th

Yep, I just missed an entire week of blogging - I've been sick all week and just couldn't muster the energy to walk upstairs to my computer! And I certainly haven't been making anything to share with you. So today is another post to tell you where I've been hiding and why I haven't blogged!! The pink eye is cleared up, I finished my antibiotics last night and still don't feel good - but it's time to get off the couch and catch life up!

Now I just need the energy to be creative 😴

March 3rd

No post today and I have to go back to catch up the past couple of days - guys, I have pink eye (both eyes) and an ear and throat infection. Ugh. I've never had pink eye before and it isn't fun (in case you were wondering hahaha). So I can barely see today and am just giving you an update instead of a blog post!

If I'm still blurry-eyed tomorrow my tip for Tip-sy Tuesday is to try avoiding touching your eyes unless you know your hands are super clean!!! I don't know anyone else who has it so don't know who to blame HA!!

I did learn from the Urgent Care doctor that when you have pink eye they'll give you drops to put in every few hours for a few days, and recommend changing your pillowcase and towels every day for 3-5 days. And it's very contagious so try to minimize contact and keep your hands clean.

A look back at what happened on this day in years past:
